The Sporting Carbine, also known as the PAC-15, is a Tier II primary weapon in World War Z.

For classes in Co-op Campaign, the Gunslinger and Fixer classes can start with one, but only if a specific perk is activated. For classes in Multiplayer, the Warfighter and Support classes can start with one, but only if a specific perk is activated.

Overview[]

The Sporting Carbine is a semi-automatic similar to the Scout Rifle. It can be considered an upgrade from it as it boasts overall higher stats and even greater bullet penetration.

A suppressor upgrade to make the gun silent is unlocked at level 5. The cosmetic suppressor add-on is available for all branches of the skin collection.

Unique Version[]

Last Aid (DLC)[]

A Sporting Carbine with a unique design and high stats was included as part of the "Last Aid Pack" DLC. Since the Horde Mode XL update (released on January 24, 2023), this modification is purely cosmetic and does have any custom stats affecting the weapon's performance. This version of the Sporting Carbine can be equipped regardless of the weapon's current level.

Signature Weapon (DLC)[]

Another Sporting Carbine with a unique design and high stats was included as part of the "Signature Weapon Pack" DLC. After the Horde Mode XL update, this version of the Sporting Carbine has also become a skin with no custom stats. It can be equipped regardless of the weapon's current level.

AMD50 Weapon Skin (Promotion)[]

As part of AMD's 50th anniversary, along with a copy of the World War Z game, an exclusive skin for the Sporting Carbine could be unlocked using a code given with the purchase of an eligible AMD product as part of a special, limited-time promotion. This version of the Sporting Carbine can also be equipped regardless of the weapon's current level.

Design[]

The Sporting Carbine variants on the main branch of skins are based on the Colt AR-15. The weapon's actual name, the PAC-15, references that specific model. It features the fixed stock instead of the usual collapsible one.

The Sporting Carbine variants on the alternate branch of skins are based on a version of the Colt AR-15 modified with a Close Quarters Battle Receiver. This modification gives the weapon its notably shorter barrel.

As with all customizable weapons, subsequent versions include a multitude of accessories to visually represent a different style. Attachments on the Sporting Carbine include scopes, extended magazines, laser aiming devices, flashlight/laser combos, suppressors, magazine base pads, and foregrips. As later versions of the Sporting Carbine are unlocked, the grip and stocks are replaced. Float tubes are installed to replace the forestock on both branches. Specific to the main branch of skins, the fixed stock is replaced with a more modern fixed stock. Specific to the alternate branch of skins, the fixed stock is first replaced with a pistol buffer tube, then a minimalist stock.

The Last Aid version of the Sporting Carbine appears to be a mix of the second and fifth versions on the main branch of skins, retaining the grip, stock, and scope of the former, but keeping the fore stock, flashlight/laser combo, and suppressor of the latter. The magazine also has the base pad seen on some of the versions on the alternate branch of skins. The design of this version features a red and white color scheme with both the star of life and the words "Last Aid" written on the stock.

The Signature Weapon version of the Sporting Carbine is based on the fourth version on the alternate branch of skins. However, the float tube has been replaced with a rail system and an internal suppressor, and the scope has been replaced with a holographic sight. The design of this version features a jungle camo pattern and red highlights with a red and black paracord neatly tied around the base of the rail system.

The AMD50 version of the Sporting Carbine is based on the fourth version on the main branch of skins. However, the scope is the same one seen on the second version on the main branch. Despite the magazine base pad appearing the same as any other, it does not hold any extra rounds compared to every other version available. The design of this version features a white, black, and gold color scheme. The AMD logo as well as the number 50 (for the 50th anniversary) are written on the stock.
