The Gunslinger is one of eight playable classes for Co-op Campaign in World War Z.

Overview[]

The Gunslinger is a class that puts a lot of significance on combat using any and all firearms at their disposal.

Many of the Gunslinger's perks focus on guns and gunplay. There are also an above average selection of perks to grant the Gunslinger better starting weapons for both the primary and secondary slots. However, this leaves very few perks that can be active to strengthen the character themselves. Choosing the Gunslinger largely requires you to commit to whatever rifle, handgun, or piece you currently have equipped and use it to its fullest potential to kill zekes efficiently and effectively. Easy to learn but difficult to master, you will become less dependent on defense systems and other teammates' class tools to get the job done and rely more on your own steady aim and awareness to become a zeke-killing machine at a moment's notice.

The Gunslinger's starting core perk grants two passive buffs. The first keeps weapon accuracy steady while its wielder is moving, keeping it close to handling as if you were firing it while standing still. The second partially reduces the recoil effect of the gun, making continuous fire more manageable. These buffs help improve the Gunslinger's aim when firing to make more bullets land on their targets.

The equipment of choice for the Gunslinger is the Frag Grenade. This explosive tool is meant to thin out a crowd of zombies quickly, giving the Gunslinger a decently powerful crowd control option for when the situation may deem it necessary or when their gun is just not enough.

History[]

October 25, 2023 patch:

  • Perk changes:
    • "It's not over": infinite equipment usage (grenades) for 10 seconds in addition to having all equipment charges restored upon becoming the last man standing.
  • Bug fixes:
    • Fixed a bug when the "Sort It All Out" perk did not activate if the primary weapon was reloaded using the "Gun Fanatic" perk.
    • Fixed a bug when the "Bad Odor" perk would generate weapons restricted by mutators.

August 10, 2023 patch (the "Holy Terror" update):

  • 9 new perks were added. Each of them was appended to one of the 9 existing columns of selectable perks. Each new perk is located at the bottom of the column, gets unlocked at the same level as the perk above it, and requires the same number of XP and Credits (Yellow Coins).
  • The new perks were: "Special mag", "Refilling", "S890", "Sort it all out", "Encore", "Bad odor", "The more the merrier", "It's not over", and "I'm not alone".
