Gas Cylinder

Someone can get seriously hurt. They are labelled for a reason.

The gas cylinder is a environmental hazard in World War Z.

Gas cylinders are slim, red tanks with an explosive hazard symbol labelled in yellow.

Overview

These explosive objects are one-time use only and are scattered around in specific spots around the map.

The use of gas cylinders can be viewed in the same way as the Frag Grenade. When activated, a large explosion will occur, dealing a lot of damage in an area all around it up.

To activate the gas cylinder, simply shoot the tank or throw an explosive at it. Melee weapons and the Chainsaw cannot be used to make them explode. The size of their explosion is similar to Frag Grenades, but are capable of killing all the zekes in its lethal radius. While deadly to zekes and most special zombies, the damage it does to a survivor is surprisingly low even on extreme difficulty. It is still recommended that distance is kept to avoid damage entirely.

Horde Mode

In Horde Mode, the gas cylinder, along with the gasoline barrel, can appear in specific spots throughout the map. For 50 supplies, traps (as they are referred to) will appear in a specific portion of the map depending on which resource cabinet you purchased it from. These areas of the map include the terminal, the hangar, and the runway. Buying it again will restore any used traps in that area.

There is an issue where you can accidentally waste your supplies by purchasing the trap restoration resource more than once when it is unnecessary. Since there is no safeguard that prevents you from buying it again over and over despite all the traps in the area being restored, it is up to you to be careful not to accidentally buy it again once you have purchased it. You should also inform your teammates that you already purchased trap restoration for the area and that no one else needs to buy it and waste 50 supplies of their own.
